The tech lead acts as the master keeper of the feature list for your project. Rather than have feature requests drop in developers’ laps, all feature requests are filtered through the tech lead. They manage all feature changes.
If a topic starts to take on a life of its own, or the meeting starts turn- ing into a problem-solving session, the leader should quickly take it “offline” by having the involved team members get together privately after the main meeting.
If your shop doesn’t have a mandatory code review policy, you can still ask your teammates for code reviews. The entire team won’t get the benefit, but your own code will improve. The people who review your code will also learn the benefits of code review
